After a weak start to November - the first film being on the 11th - I quickly added to the count, racking up a total of 13 films throughout the month. At a total of 125 so far, I'm still off my target of 150 films for the year and at this point not sure if I will make it! Doesn't mean I won't give it my best shot though with a few big releases heading to the screens in December.
Philomena
Captain Phillips
Ender's Game
Filth
About Time
Escape Plan
Thor:The Dark World
In Fear
The Family
Don Jon
The Flu
Parkland
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
With so many films, I would normally have a couple that I wasn't too pleased with, but I am happy to say that I enjoyed nearly pretty much every one to some degree or another. Which is why I'm not going to pick one out and diss it like I normally do - instead I've picked out three that were scoring above average in my books.
My second home - the cinema (or maybe the pub). Either way I see a lot of films, so take a look at my thoughts on what's out and let me know how much you disagree!

Halloween: October
A few films this October were films I'd already seen - Monsters University, 2nd time since release; Thor and Avengers Assemble, as part of the IMAX triple bill for the release of Thor: The Dark World; and a special treat for Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street. And with Halloween in mind, that gave me and idea for the film title of this blog.
The Call, Austenland, Monsters University, Thanks for Sharing, White House Down, Sawney: Flesh of Man, Machete Kills, Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa, Thor, Avengers Assemble, Thor: The Dark World and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Overall it was a fun month in the screens, even if not intentionally so, and brightened things up after last months downers. Let's not dwell though, as it seems even the laughs can be a let down sometimes.

Near Dark: September
Another month where I didn't get in as many films as I would have liked, only nine in total. However I did manage to catch a few with limited release dates, perhaps only staying in the screens for a week at most along with the larger releases of the month.
Elysium, You're Next, 42, In A World..., Rush, Riddick, Cold Comes the Night, R.I.P.D. and Prisoners.
Sports and dark, depressing topics seemed to be the order of things in September - maybe it was the darker nights coming in (hence the title film of the blog post). Despite that I enjoyed all the films and was happy they weren't all made up to have the happy Hollywood endings.

Catch Me If You Can: August
After such a poor show in July, I decided I had to do better in August and managed to fit in twelve films throughout the month. Definitely making use of my Unlimited Card now. It was all a bit action packed and my respect for Marky Mark grows more and more with every film I see him in!
Monsters University, RED 2, The Heat, Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, Kick Ass 2, 2 Guns, The Lone Ranger, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Pain & Gain, Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters, We're the Millers and The Way, Way Back.
There were a few films this month that I had gone in with a preconceived idea of how I was going to feel about it and in the end felt very differently. Thankfully it was mostly good and the films were better than I was expecting, but there was still a couple of disappointments.

Slow Burn: July Round-up
It was a quiet month of cinema visits. The nice weather proving to be too much of an attraction. Altogether I managed to fit in a massive SIX films! And three of them were actually released in June. Oh dear...
World War Z, Man of Steel, This is the End, The World's End, The Wolverine and finally The Internship.
Disappointing. I'm not just talking about such a measly number of films but the films themselves. I had high hopes for many of these films but left the cinema underwhelmed mostly. So here are a couple of stand out opinions of my own.
